Walmart shows no “respect for individuality” with new scheduling

Been with Walmart for 15 years; watched a lot of changes come down the pike, and the latest crop of changes are appalling!  How can a company that espouses “respect for the individual” completely disregard the individual by computerized scheduling and work-function micro-management?

Three years ago, I was in a dire financial situation; I requested assistance through the Associate in Critical Need Program.  For seven weeks, I was delayed, danced around, and ultimately denied for “insufficient disclosure of information”—I don’t know what else they could have wanted… my blood type, maybe?  I was forced to cash in my 401K and profit sharing to save my house and my extended family—and the only way to do that was to quit.  I should have used that time and cushion to find other work, but damned fool that I am, I liked the people I directly worked for, so i went back!

My distaste for going to work has started to interfere with my sleep, my relationships with the kids, even my fitness.  I never walk in the door with a smile, or in a remotely good mood—but I’m ALWAYS happy to leave!
