Terminated for working overtime
I was recently terminated for an hour and a half in overtime, that one assistant manager stated the store had been approved for 8 hours. I was told the hour and a half could be approved this time but I need to start watching my hours from now on. I said oh ok, sorry and most definitely I will watch my hours from now on. This conversation occurred on a Sunday, the overtime I worked occurred Friday 2 days prior to Sunday. I went and worked my full shift on Monday had off on Tuesday showed up for work Wednesday for half an hour only to be terminated. I was terminated by a different assistant manager than the one who stated they could approve my overtime, I stated what I had been told and they continued with my termination and advised me to call and speak to the assistant that gave the information to me on approval for the overtime. I didn’t even bother. I always thought Wal-mart was great to their employees until I became one and started to see things from the inside. It is disheartening to those of us that work hard. All my co workers have emailed me etc. in shock that I got terminated as I was probably the hardest working employee they had. I was a cashier part time at first and within a few weeks I was a dept. manager. I remember also during my short employment with Wal-mart, I had told them how sick my children were and I could get medical documentation stating so, and I needed to change my hours just for the work. They refused to do, they stated for me to call in late every shift that week. This resulted in a later write up for attendance. What can I do now, where can I go now? I am still in shock that this happened to me, one of their strongest and hardest working employees. I feel sorry for others who have not realized yet that hard work at Walmart will get them no where but escorted out the door. I know Im the proof. Then I was treated so poorly after my termination it was like dealing with people I never met before. I mean HELLO, IT IS STILL ME!
