It’s Called ‘Sick Leave’ But You Can’t Use It
Here in CT you can, like me have 80 accrued sick hours, and then like me have a real bad cough and cold with fever… just a basic bad cold, no need to go to the doctor. Some days, though I was too sick and missed 2 days, then my child was sick so I missed another and I told them why. Then I realized I was using vacation and personal hours since the 80 hours labelled sick hours couldn’t be used when I felt sick. So anyway I wrote a letter to the editor, and if you read it you will notice that I did not mention Wal-Mart by name. And what pisses me off is now I have a warning about my attendance and if they fire me for being sick they keep the money. Sure they may not have to give us sick time but if you can’t use it when you’re sick, then call it something else. Then they keep all this money when they fire you for being sick. I also wrote my local state senator and state representative. I also wrote the Attorney General of Connecticut Richard Blumenthal.
