Are You Safe at Work?
It’s your life, but the Walmart choice seems to be the only one the company acknowledges these days. Every morning I come in to see our fire exits blocked in the back rooms and they generally stay that way until someone reports that the fire marshal is in the building. Also, today, I was helping our claims associate when I came across a pellet rifle that was returned. The barrel was placed down into a pad with a foam backing on the floor and the rifle FIRED! What was worse is that there was a pellet in the barrel! When this was reported to management, they advised the claims associate that there really wasn’t a protocol in place to ensure that a loaded weapon wasn’t carried into the building therefore placing an employee’s life in danger.
